According to the biz news journal The Florida Department of Environmental Protection on Tuesday designated the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club within its green lodging program.
The designation recognizes the hotel’s implementation of green practices, including water conservation, energy efficiency and waste reduction measures, an agency advisory said.
Established in 2004, the green lodging program sets environmental guidelines for hotels and motels to conserve natural resources and prevent pollution. In return, the state recommends lodging establishments in the program to companies and trade organizations looking for overnight accommodations.
The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is a 250-room oceanfront inn located in St. Johns County.
